Time Flies When You’re Working Hard

            Summer has officially come to a close and the fall season has begun. Though we Floridians may not observe the changing of leaves this autumn, we will most certainly be affected by the changing of seasons in regards to our schedules. Our calendars will be at full capacity, as we fold up our beach chairs and dive straight into the hectic seasons that are to come. As a student and an intern, I have been able to observe that there is coloration between the demanding schedules that fall brings for both business professionals and seniors studying at a university.

            When I start seeing Pumpkin Spice Latte’s on the menu at my favorite coffee shop, I know that the leisurely pace of summer has officially expired, and the high-speed fall season has arrived. Whether I am looking at my academic calendar, my daunting work schedule at my retail job, or the numerous events that the Chamber has coming up—it is safe to say that my plate is overflowing. It seems that academically and professionally, everyone’s schedule is picking up momentum as the end of the year rapidly approaches—scary huh?

            Last week I made the realization that it is already September. How is it already September? Also, I know that the next few months are going to fly by, as they always do when our calendars are overflowing. So, before the end of the year becomes a blur of deadlines, meetings, and family gatherings with those you cherish and those you wonder, “How am I related to these people?” you should put several important Chamber events on your calendar. These events will help you to escape the chaos in your office and network with other business professionals to ensure that your fall season is one full of success!

Make sure you don’t plan anything Thursday, September 15^th for the Chamber’s Annual Golf Classic, Small Business Expo, and the September Business After Hours! This day provides so many events to attend and people to meet, all on one day and in one location! Another way to get away from your office chair and become an active Chamber member is to attend our Power Networking event on Thursday. September 22^nd or our Navigate Your Way to Success Seminar on Wednesday, September 22^nd! So, even though calendars are filling up fast, there is still time to be proactive and utilize the tools that the West Orange Chamber of Commerce provides for you to end your year on a high note!
